From October 31 – November 3, we’re thrilled to welcome Dogs Playing for Life to the Kaua‘i Humane Society! These nationally recognized dog-play experts will be here to train KHS staff and volunteers on how to run fun, safe, and enriching dog playgroups that boost both mental and physical well-being for our shelter pups.

Here’s where YOU come in!

We’re inviting new and returning volunteers to join us for this exciting training opportunity – and then stay on as part of our amazing Playgroup Volunteer Team to help bring ongoing enrichment to our shelter dogs year-round.

Training Schedule

Day 1 – *Presentation Viewing Required for All Participants

• 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM: Playgroup Presentation in the KHS classroom

• 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Live Playgroup Demo

Remaining Days

• 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Hands-on playgroup

• 2-5:00 PM: Hands-on playgroup

How to Get Involved

• Come to the training! Meet us in the KHS classroom (double doors on the right side of lobby)

• Join the Playgroup Volunteer Team

• Help bring enrichment to our dogs year-round!

We welcome observers, but we’re looking for committed volunteers to stay involved after training.

• Bring lunch and water
• Wear your volunteer shirt, long pants, and closed-toe shoes for safety.
