Frequently Asked Questions

I am not KHS member. Can my pet still stay with you?

Unfortunately, no. We have very limited space and can only accommodate members. Please sign up to become a member by clicking here.

What vaccinations or other healthcare requirements are needed for my pet to board at your facility?

All pets must be current on their routine preventative health vaccinations as well as heartworm prevention for dogs. In addition, all dogs must have received a Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccination  no less than 10 days and not more than 180 days prior to boarding with us. External parasite treatment (for fleas and ticks) is required within 14 days of arrival.

Do I need to provide food?

Yes! To ensure your pet will continue eating well and not have an upset stomach, we ask you to provide your own food.

What if my pet is on medication?

If your pet is on special medication, we recommend you board him or her with your private veterinarian. Your veterinarian is familiar with your pet and can closely monitor their condition and daily medication schedule.  We cannot be responsible for daily medications.

What if my cat will only use a special type of litter?

We provide standard clay litter and clean the litter boxes twice daily. We can use your special litter if you provide an ample supply with a sealed container.

Do you have transport services available?

No, we do not offer transport services at this time.

What if my pet gets sick while I am away?

We will require all pet owners to register with their private veterinary clinic prior to leaving their pet with us. If your pet gets sick, we will transport him or her to their veterinarian for treatment at the owner’s cost.
