Take a Shelter Pet Home for the Holidays

KHS is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Days. By taking a shelter animal home for the holiday, you’re showing that animal(s) so much more attention than the animal would receive otherwise. Most importantly you’re getting the animal out of the shelter for at least two nights!

Any break from the shelter is incredibly helpful for the animals’ mental health. It’s also an amazing opportunity for you to tell us how the animal acts outside of the shelter.

We will give you the needed supplies to care for your shelter pet:

• leash
• collar
• harness
• waste bags
• food
• treats
• litter
• litter box

Browse our adoptable pets and find a dog, cat or kitten (or multiple) that you’d like to take home!

Pick up before 5 p.m. the day before the holiday and return anytime after (except Thursdays when we are closed).

If you fall in love with your holiday pet, their adoption fee will be 50% off.

If you’re not sure, just select the type of animal that you’d like to take home and our staff will help match you with a shelter animal that needs a break from the shelter.
