» Volunteer - Shelter Dogs on Field Trips .

Are you missing your dog while on vacation?

Come by our shelter to “check out” one of our dogs for a day trip to splash around Mahaulepu Beach, hike Sleeping Giant, or explore Waimea Canyon.  Not only will you be giving them a much needed break from the kennel environment, but also providing an opportunity to show off their skills to many potential adopters.

If you’re interested in doing a field trip with one of our energetic dogs available for adoption, just stop by during the pick-up hours listed below, no appointment necessary.  The field trip dogs must be returned to the shelter 30 minutes prior to closing.

We provide all the supplies for your adventure…doggie pot bags, towels for your car, an “adopt me” vest, and identification tags for your partner for the day.

Also, it’s OK to fall in love.  On average, 2 visitors/week adopt one of our shelter dogs…they’re simply irresistible.  We can assist you with the steps involved with taking your new companion home with you.
